Optimization and Performance Research of Microemulsion Applied on Low Permeability Reservoir

The formula and performance of the microemulsion that is applicable for development of low permeability reservoirs are studied. Based on the method of equation coefficient method, the microemulsion formula suitable for the low permeability reservoir of Chaoyanggou is determined by laboratory experiment as 1% mahogany sulfonate+1% butanol+1.38%

hexanol. The characteristic parameter for measuring the microemulsion is R=0.261. The formula microemulsion is verified as the optimal middle phase system. The particle radius of the microemulsion system is measured by laser particle size analyzer. The particle radius range from 0.01 μ m to 0.22 μ m which is applicable to micro pore and throat in Chaoyanggou reservoir. It can be found that the micro emulsion flooding improves the final recovery efficiency by 7.41% on the basis of water displacement recovery and reduces the injection pressure by 24%. This verifies the applicability of the microemulsion system for the low permeability reservoir of Chaoyanggou.
